The Dean, Smith & Grace (DSG) 13 x 42 (Model 13-1 / Type 13-42) is a heavy-duty British precision centre lathe built for high rigidity and industrial durability.

- Spindle bore: 1-5/8 inches (41 mm)

Design and Build Quality
Rigidity:
Dean Smith & Grace (DSG) lathes are heavily ribbed and built with massive cast-iron beds, making them vastly more rigid than standard light-to-medium workshop lathes of the same swing size.
Headstock & Gearing:
Features robust precision gearboxes and high-grade spindle bearings designed to resist deflection during heavy turning or interrupted cuts.
Condition
Presents in good condition. We have run the lathe it runs well for a machine of its vintage.
Fault with operating the screw cutting lever it appears to be seized and needs work to make it operational.
Machine is being sold in as is condition.
